This station is situated 722' above sea level in the town of Borrego Springs in northeastern San Diego County. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Data are retrieved from a Davis Vantage Pro II weather station. The station is mounted on a pole; the anemometer approximately 17' off the ground (a full 16' under the meteorologic standard, but better than nothing), with the integrated sensor suite approximately 5' off the ground. Data are relayed wirelessly to a console indoors, and from there, sent via USB to an old, thrown-together PC. The weather station software inserts data into a pre-defined template, which is then uploaded to this web site as a very simple data file. The pages herein use PHP to parse the data and spit it out in pretty see-through boxes with pictures and stuff. :)
